POPE JOHN PAUL II EXHORTS
In his talk before the youth at the Youth Day in Bern, Switzerland on June 6, 2004, Pope John Paul II said, “In a world often without light and without courage and noble ideals, this is not a time to be ashamed of the Gospel. It is a time to preach it from the roof top.”
GLORY TO GOD FOR HIS HEALINGS
By Lorna Lisk
WUPC Founder-President
IN BELIZE, CENTRAL AMERICA
Last May 8, with God’s grace, I conducted a healing service at the National Rally of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal of Belize in Central America. During our five-day stay in Belize City, I conducted seven healing services. Our Lord instantly healed six blind people, two of them in the national rally.
Three blind people were restored their sight at my healing service at St. John Vianney Church for its parishioners two days earlier. The eyelids of one old blind lady were shut. When I parted them she uttered she could see light. She also attended the national rally where her eyelids were already open and she could see my face and red dress. The other blind person healed was a young inmate at Hatieville Prison where I performed a healing service the same day before 400 inmates.
My other healing sevices were before the Palloti sisters, two high schools and a large rosary group.
Among those instantly healed by our awesome Healer are three deaf people, one totally deaf. One lame person was able to walk. Paralyzed from his thighs down, a man was healed and walked normally. Four people with numbness in different parts of their bodies were relieved of this malady. Able to lift their hands normally were two people healed of bursitis and two others of frozen shoulders. Several with poor eyesight could see well. Close to 90 people were instantly healed of pain in various parts of their bodies. People gave oral testimonies when healed. One of these was an inmate healed of pain all over his body.
There were also spiritual healings. A young lady afflicted with depression for many years which got worse after her husband committed suicide was liberated ten hours after I prayed for her in proxy. Glory to God for His healings and miracles. Through people’s witness of these, we pray that many will realize that Jesus is a loving God of miracles and will be converted to Him for their salvation.
My husband Thom assisted and gave brief talks in the above healing services. As a professional motivational and business speaker, he spoke before the Rotary Club, Lions Club and the Business of Belize. He and I appeared on three TV stations and on national radio regarding the national rally, healing service and business. One TV interviewer said he is a skeptic and wanted to see God’s healing in action. Hence, we went to a street in front of the Pallotti Convent where we stayed. I approached one lady and asked if she wanted to be prayed with after I introduced myself as having an international healing ministry. She said “Yes” and she handed me her wrist for healing of pain and her fingers of numbness. After I uttered a short prayer, she said that her pain and numbness vanished. This episode was shown on TV four times. Praise God!
Testimony from the U.S.A.
By Melinda and the DeGuzman, Harty and Gatmaitan Families, Gahana, Ohio
“My mom had a mastectomy five years ago when she was 77 years old. About 3 months ago, she confided to us on the phone that her Ultrasound and CATSCAN showed a 3 cm liver mass with a nodule and bleeding adrenals. This news devastated us, thinking she had a metastasis. Although we were 6,000 miles from our mom (she was in the Philippines), our family’s faith in the Lord never wavered and we prayed daily. Between the time a CATSCAN was done and a PETSCAN (Positron Emission Tomography) was performed on my mom, we asked for your (Lorna Lisk’s) intercessory prayers, too (you prayed with me on the phone). Lo and behold, her PETSCAN results showed no liver mass. The doctors were so shocked, they asked for a repeat diagnostic test. PRAISE THE LORD for giving our mom another opportunity to serve Him. Thank you, Lorna for the power of your miracle prayers. We are praying for your Worldwide Prayer (and Healing) Ministry."
Testimony from the Philippines
By Dory P. Dumalan
The day before Christmas I met an accident by a tricycle (driver from BF Monument). I fell down. What goes in my mind, “Oh, God, thank you very much. Your will be done. I know you love me and you are with me.” The day after Christmas my foot was cemented for more than one month (at the Orthopedic Hospital). Upon my checkup, the cast was taken off, but the doctor advised that I not use my foot yet for it was still swollen and painful. (walked with crutches and foot was about ten inches above the ground). I was happy. I told (the) Lord I will be there (at the mass and healing (service). Our Lord just used Sister Lorna for His power and love to ease all my pain and I walked without any support. I love our Lord so much I offer all that happened to me for His honor and glory, for the forgiveness of sins, for love, peace and for all souls in purgatory. If you are true to your faith He will reward you with His blessings and He will not abandon you.”

JOIN PETITION TO PROCLAIM 2004 AS YEAR OF THE BIBLE
To raise our country’s consciousness and love for the Word of God and recognize its efficacy in bestowing on us the abundant life, in aiding eradicate the tremendous evil in our country and in the world and in leading us to eternal life and happiness, Worldwide United Prayer for Christ has requested President George W. Bush to declare 2004 as the Year of the Bible. The late President Ronald Reagan proclaimed 1983 as the Year of the Bible.
Please join us in our petition by writing President Bush at the White House, 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, Washington, D.C. 20502.
If 2004 is not proclaimed the Year of the Bible, petition again in December for 2005 to be proclaimed as such.
President Reagan also reactivated the observance of the National Day of Prayer in 1983. This has been observed every year since. It was President Dwight Eisenhower who first proclaimed the National Day of Prayer.
HOW TO SUCCEED IN EVERYTHING
By Rev. John Hampsch, CMF
(The following are excerpts from the booklet of the same title).
A close scrutiny of Scripture shows that anyone can be blessed with universal success by using the “secret of the hundredfold,” which produces maximum output with minimum input. Extravagant as it may sound, it is the secret of succeeding in everything. We can start our scriptural search with the basic assertion of Romans 8:28: “We know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose. God-lovers are winners in every situation.
What was the secret of David’s success, not just in battle but in everything that he undertook. The answer is found in many passages of the Scripture, for instance, 1 Sam. 18:14: “In everything he did he had great success, because the Lord was with him.”
When our tasks are submitted to the Lord for His blessing, ultimate success is assured. God will bless your work, but He won’t do it all for you. “He feeds the birds of the air,” but not in their nests. The bromide still rings true: “God helps those who help themselves.”
Reminiscent of David as a small boy with five small stones to fight Goliath, all the Gospels relate the story of a small boy with five small barley loaves and a couple of small fish. These small items provided enough for Jesus to feed 5000 families. With a small blessing prayer over the small contribution, the Master of abundance reveals the “secret” that God delights in performing “much-from-little” miracles.
He even seems to delight in transmuting our failures into successes, A (similar) failure to success incident comes to mind in my ministry when I invoked God’s blessing on a five-day priests’ retreat that I preached where I found adamant resistance from my preaching from most of the priests’ retreatants. The priests had all left the retreat house except one elderly priest who was in the chapel while I was praying there, asking God to “bless the mess” I had made of the retreat. He asked me to pray for his healing of terminal throat cancer, which I did. A year later I found out from my doctor – who was also his doctor – that on his way home from the retreat a few minutes after I prayed with him, this elderly priest was miraculously made pain-free and was instantly and completely healed of the throat cancer, as attested by medical reports.
The extra ingredient that makes the difference between failure and success in all our doings is simply the intent of committing each endeavor to the Lord. "Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and your plans will succeed” (Prov. 16:3).
By inviting God’s blessing you can accomplish more in one hour than in a lifetime without it. Why? Because “With God all things are possible." (Mt. 19:26).
Thus, while He can multiply the effects of our small efforts submitted to Him – as he multiplied the loaves and fishes - so, also, conversely, He can make great problems small and few when put into His hands. Childlike confidence touches the heart of our Father God, whose healing love shrinks our problems. “Cast your cares upon the Lord, for He cares for you.” (1 Per. 5:7). There‘s nothing you can’t accomplish together (with God). But give Him the wherewithal to do His part. He can mend a broken heart, but you must give Him all the pieces.
One of the many ways God “divides” our anguish (while multiplying our merits) is to put it into perspective and dissolve our self-pity, our discouragement, our despair and other obstacles to success.
Problems tend to shrink in the sunlight of true faith. To his distressed troops, Jehoshaphat urged: “Have faith in the Lord your God…Have faith and you will be successful.” (2 Chron.20:20).
God wants to use our talents , our gifts, our resources, our faculties – no matter how weak or small they are – to build His kingdom.
There’s nothing we can’t do for His glory when our talents and resources are placed in His hands like the small boy’s small loaves and fish, to be blessed by Him, and thus multiplied for the benefit of countless others. Look into ordinary situations for occasions to serve others, to encourage them, support others.
God allows human failures or “mis-steps” by such person to eventuate in astonishing successes. I once asked God to bring some good from my frustration in missing my intended freeway turn-off. At the next turnoff I encountered an accident with an injured woman to whom I gave the Last Rites.
James tells us that the righteous “will be blessed in whatever he does” (James 1:25) - an almost direct quote from Psalm 1:3 “whatever he does prospers.” God looks for such worthy souls. “The eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth those whose hearts are fully committed to Him." (2 Chron. 16:9).

MESSAGE FROM WUPC SPIRITUAL DIRECTOR
By Rev. James Coleman
The widow of Zarepath is given to us by God as an example. We fail in our trust in God because we do not have everything in the world. Although she had nothing, she still shared with Elijah all the flour and oil she had, even at the risk of starvation. The Lord returned her generosity in resurrecting her son and in providing ENOUGH food for her and her son. God wants us to imitate her trust as we pray for our needs, as well as those of others and of God’s Church.
MIRACLE PRAYER AND PETITIONS
In the past issues of this newsletter and in the new book “Boost Your Prayer Power” by Lorna Lisk, it is shown that people can receive Christ in their hearts by praying daily with their hearts the Miracle Prayer (written by the Servite Fathers) and Petitions (see Prayer Card - if not attached here, see www.worldpray.org or “Order,” page 4). This prayer is a combination of the sinners prayer, renewal of baptismal vows and prayer of commitment. People also get transformed spiritually, obtain a personal relationship with our Savior and receive rich blessings and miracles from Him in their lives. They experience baptism in the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:8).
Even with this baptism, one is strongly encouraged to attend a Life in the Spirit Seminar to garner more empowerment for holiness and service. People who have done the former are more likely to go through a LISS later. The Miracle Prayer is similar to the prayer prayed at the LISS baptism in the Holy Spirit.
Doing the former will be a great opportunity for an easy and more widespread dissemination to receive the infilling of the Holy Spirit.
If given the opportunity, pray the Miracle Prayer with people and then lay hands on them as you pray for them to receive the Holy Spirit. Ask them to pray daily the Miracle Prayer and the Petitions, to read the Bible, to attend weekly prayer meetings and Bible study, to serve God and others and to receive the Eucharist at least on Sundays or more often. Praying for the Petitions is service to God, the church and our brethren.
Millions of Prayer Partners of Worldwide United Prayer for Christ pray daily this Miracle Prayer and the petitions for world salvation, the church and other world needs. Intentions of Prayer Partners are prayed for daily by these millions of Prayer Partners in the world.
