Testimony of a Blind Person

Testimony of a Dying Lady

   “On October 4, 2004 I had a heart transplant. On December of the same year I was hospitalized for fungal infection, a deadly fungus  named “Aspergillus.” You could die from this fungus once it spread in any organ, if not controlled with strong medication. The fungus was spreading in my lungs and in my brain. My doctor said, “As soon as you cough blood you could die”. Dec. 24, 2004, I was coughing up blood for 4 hours.….I was unconscious for 3 hours....The hospital called my family because I would likely die….A week later, New Year’s Eve, Lorna Lisk called me on the phone to pray with me…Next day I felt some strength. I could eat well. I felt so normal. I was not coughing anymore. The x-rays showed the fungus was getting smaller…the white blood count was getting normal…I could walk in my room back and forth. I did not need lung surgery. The doctors and nurses were amazed. They said it was a miracle. Three days after Lorna prayed with me, I was discharged from the hospital.…Now I can drive and function normally. Testimony of a Lady with Feet and Finger Problem

   I had a condition that made my feet feel as though they were plugged to an electric (that constantly delivered shocks to my feet every few seconds especially at bedtime). That night (of the healing service on October 8, 2005) I did not have that feeling.

    The knuckle on my left hand  the finger next to the thumb was twice the size of the other knuckles on both hands. It now looks like the others and the constant soreness went away over the next couple of weeks.

    I also had a toe where at the joint the two bones had pushed up to a peak and was sore to the touch and throbbed with pain. The bones flattened to a normal position. The soreness went away as well as the pain.  Carole M., Columbus, Ohio, December 17, 2005

Testimony of a Deaf Person

“Tonight, October 15, 2006, Lorna Lisk prayed over my left ear. I have been deaf for three years due to bacterial meningitis. POPE BENEDICT XVI SAYS

   “The human race - every one of us - is the sheep lost in the desert  which no longer knows the way. The Son of God will not let this happen; He cannot abandon humanity in so wretched a condition.”

      In Deus Caritas Est,  page 52, the pope states, “Rather he (the Christian) seeks an encounter  with the Father of Jesus Christ, asking God to be present with the consolation of the Spirit to him and his work. A personal relationship with God and an abandonment to his will can prevent man from being demeaned and save him from falling prey to the teaching of fanaticism and terrorism”.

SPIRIT POWER IN YOUR PRAYER LIFE

The following are excerpts from the above  booklet by Fr. Hampsch.

“How do we subsume the Holy Spirit’s power into our prayer?...First, we must submit ourselves to the Holy Spirit in absolute surrender - and that is not easy to do consistently. This implies unhesitating and total surrender, for instance, to his inner promptings to pull away form worldly distractions….Or the surrender may mean being totally open to accepting prolonged “dry” periods in one’s prayer life…. or distractions arising from family duties, etc.

     Secondly, we must learn to practice trusting, faith-filled patience as we wait for God’s timing. ….When God’s answers  are delayed, he often doesn’t show us why. Perhaps that faith factor explains Jesus’ remark in closing that parable about perseverance (the persistent widow in Luke 18:1-5): “When the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?” (v.5).

    Thirdly, we must remember that one of our “ weaknesses” is to ask for the wrong things in our prayers- or the right things with the wrong emphasis”…some of our most earnest prayers are for things we need the least, especially temporal needs that tend to take priority over our spiritual needs….Consider your earnestness in praying for a physical healing such as increased sensitivity to sin (contrition), or for humility, or for prayer skills, or for increasing your gratitude to God, etc….To release his power we should first humbly ask him to prioritize our very desires to be in tandem with his.

     Fourthly, we must realize that the vehemence of our desires  has no bearing on the success of our prayers. …But our yearning is not as important as our trust...The Holy Spirit’s help is needed to remind us of this, and to establish this priority in our soul.

     Fifthly, we must ask the Spirit to purify our prayer of all vagrant thoughts, frivolous fantasies, and mundane distractions…We can perhaps shut the door to worldly distractions, but only the Spirit can shut the heart and lock out the appeal of these intrusions. Only the Spirit can make lengthy prayer untiring, by guiding the mind in uncluttered fascination with godly thoughts, which are thus, “spiritually discerned” (1 Cor. 2:14).

     Sixth, we must ask the Holy Spirit to give us a “holy discontent” with anything not of God, so that his empowering grace may flourish unimpeded by sin, so that we may be “made new in the attitude of mind, and put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness” (Ephes. 4:24).  This is an indispensable predisposition for power in prayer, because “the prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective” (James 5:16).

      After the six-year “war on Christmas,” there is good news. Praise our Savior Jesus! Major retailers like Walmart, J.C. Penney’s, Macy’s, K-Mart, Sears, Target, Kohl, L.L. Bean and Dillards have now resumed using “Merry Christmas” store signs and ads instead of “Happy Holidays.” Thanks to the boycott last year of American Family Association  with three million online members  and others. Let’s keep on praying for more retailers to join the bandwagon.

    In the 1970’s the American Civil Liberties Union succeeded in removing nativity scenes from public property. Here is another answered prayer! It was in the TV news recently that a man obtained a permit in Washington, D.C. to put up a Christmas tree with nativity scene in a public place. He proceeds to New York to do the same thing there. According to www.lc.org of Liberty Counsel, nativity scenes can be placed in public places by private parties if closely surrounded by secular symbols like Christmas trees, reindeers, etc. Glory to Jesus Christ!

      Our prayers and that of many others have helped accomplished the above.

      There is enormous power in united prayer. Mt. 18:19 states, “if two of you agree on earth for which they are to pray, it shall be granted to them by my heavenly Father.”

      Let us continue intensifying our united prayers in view of today’s overwhelming evil like terrorism, nuclear threat, abortion, frequent calamities, de-Christianization, war in Iraq and other parts of the globe, acute moral decay and culture of death where it is now more frequent for people to kill for flimsy reasons. More specifically, let us  pray  for the ban on partial birth  abortion to be upheld by the Supreme Court, for the end of gay marriage and internet pornography. With the war in Iraq erupting into a civil war, Iran continuing to build a nuclear bomb, North Korea having nuclear bombs, and Iran’s president saying it will wipe out Israel and “death to America” to its people and all other evil, the world is in dire need of our fervent daily united prayer.

     This  is also one of the best means of serving God, others, our families  and ourselves.

     Let us pray for Jesus’ teachings of love and forgiveness to touch the hearts of global warring factions.

     Let us also seek our Lady of the Rosary’s intercession and pray the Rosary daily. Numerous military battles were won through her powerful intercession like those at Lepanto, Greece, Muret and La Rochelle, France, Viena, Austria, Peterwardein, Hungary, and World War I.

     Aside from our prayers, action is essential. 

     Political correctness contribute to de-Christianization. The University of Colorado banned university-sponsored Christmas  parties. In Chicago at Daley Plaza, the showing of clips from the movie Nativity Story is prohibited.

      Some people are reluctant to greet others “Merry Christmas”  and have abandoned using “Merry Christmas” signs for fear of offending  non-Christians (only 17% of our population). Jesus said in Mt. 10:32, “Everyone who acknowledges me before others I will acknowledge before my heavenly Father”. Shall we risk this non-acknowledgment due to self-imposed fear of offending a non-Christian? He will most likely understand if you greet him “Merry Christmas” by mistake because Christmas is a national holiday. Succumbing to such false fear will help us  lose our Christian rights. 

     To publicly honor Jesus in an easy way without asking a government permit and to celebrate the true meaning of Christmas, display the nativity scene by itself at your front yard (excluding public housing).

     Inside our house we have seven nativity scenes to stress the message that Jesus is the reason for the season.  Have at least one nativity scene visible in your home - a good witness also for your family.

     Outdoor and indoor nativity scenes are available online if you cannot find them at stores.

      Though we struggled to issue this newsletter in November, December could be the Lord’s timing. The great news which our Lord wanted to bring us in the first two paragraphs above came in December. By the time you get this newsletter, there might still be time for you to get bargains for nativity scenes for use up to Three Kings Day and many future years.

   Ten Commandment monuments cannot be displayed in public places nor is prayer allowed in public schools.

    A Jesus’ open door to  easily honor Him publicly is by wearing daily our personal monument of  Him  -  a cross necklace or pin.  Let us do this to glorify Him and help reverse de-Christianization. The more we glorify Jesus the more He will bless us a hundred-fold.

      It is suggested that churches have always on their literature rack The Ten  Commandments (with specific actions needed to follow them) for examination of conscience. Many people do not know a number of these specific actions. This is very vital because salvation hinges on true repentance of sins and holiness. My book Boost Your Prayer Power (see below in “To Order”) has in the second chapter  the TC detailed actions taken from various church sources.

     In religious schools  it would be salutary to students’ spirituality  to have The Ten Commandments displayed. Disobedience to these commandments is mortal sin or spiritual death. Specific actions to follow the Ten Commandments need to be taught if not  yet being done.

     Patronize movies with Christian moral values. Vast audiences for these will inspire Hollywood to produce more of them and less of despicable movies like Da Vinci Code. The DVC book is a world’s bestseller and the movie is a blockbuster. DVDs are now out.  DVC  stated that Jesus was married to Mary Magdalene and that He is not God. Only Constantine made him so. Tell many people that according to Laura Miller in a New York Times Book Review article,  the DVC is a “notorious hoax” and that much of the material about Mary Magdalene  and the Priory of Sion depends on fabricated documents planted in the Bibliotheque Nationale in Paris by Pierre Plantard with “a criminal record for fraud” (see  www.jesusdecoded.com of the US Conference of Catholic Bishops Catholic Communication Campaign). This will help turnaround readers and viewers whose faith in Jesus was shattered and will discourage purchase of the DVD. 

      Why is there so much evil?  Because a large majority of people in US and in the world are disengaging themselves from God,  our   Savior from all evil. ABC news poll last February indicated that only 38% of Americans go to church. In Europe  the percentage is much lower.  Forty five million unborn babies have been aborted in the US since 1973. We suffer the consequences of our actions. Galatians 6:7 states, “...a person will reap only what he sows.” Ecc. 12:13,14  says, “Fear God and keep his commandments….Because God will bring to judgment every work, with all its hidden qualities, good or bad.”   

      Let us dash to the loving embrace of our most merciful Jesus. Then we will receive anew His blessings, miracles  and be in the shadow of His mighty wings of   protection from evil.  In 2 Chron. 7:14 Jesus promised, “if my people…pray...and turn from their evil ways, I will hear them from heaven and pardon their sins and revive their land”. This world darkness could be a wake up call for us to cling to our Creator now.

    Prayer Partners are asked to distribute copies of the Miracle Prayer/petitions card (for world salvation and  world peace are the first two petitions) to as many people as they can.  A lady from Sri Lanka distributed this Miracle Prayer to 4,000 people in her country recently.

   In Mt. 28:19, we are commissioned by  Jesus  “to make disciples of all nations”. He wants us to help His mission of bringing salvation to all (Is. 49:6). Press on to victory!
